Ricardus chose Lebanon; he chose to live in Lebanon and work for it in spite of all the challenges. He could have moved around the world where his knowledge and personality would have been welcomed and appreciated. But, he believes that Lebanon’s nature is very important and its protection integrates into the global movement for saving the planets resources. For years, Ricardus was the only person who voiced the respect and appreciation of Lebanon’s natural assets.

His work is fundamental and basic in building the environmental movement found in Lebanon today. As he says, he doesn’t own any piece of land in Lebanon, but he owns the whole of Lebanon, all the valleys, the trees, the forests, the waterfalls, the butterflies, the sunshine, … He is the richest person yet with no possession. This feeling of belonging to the land and the land belonging to him is very overwhelming.
